As I've been alluding to for the past few weeks, I've been thinking very long and very hard about what I want to do in regards to my blogging and my writing, and I've recently come to a decision about. My New Year's resolution is this:
Write more, blog less, and be more active in social media.
1} Write more.
I really haven't done much in the way of writing since, oh I don't know, 2014. I spent three quarters of 2015 prepping this novella for release on Kindle, Smashwords and CreateSpace. The remaining one quarter was spent rediscovering my writing groove, specifically, working on a re-write for novel as well as developing another short story trilogy for the Kindle.
Because work has been the the constant thorn in my side, I decided starting this year to prioritize my writing output. Which leads us to resolution part the 2nd.
2} Blog less.
Due to one of my most annoying personality traits, I spent the majority of 2015 driving myself mad with my blogging.Things finally reached a boiling over point in late November, and as you saw in December, I really didn't do much with my blogging. At least, here on Blogger.
If you look to the side, stationed at the top, you'll find a link to my re-tooled Tumblr blog, simply titled "I Are Writer!"
Basically, I decided to get back to the main reason why I got into blogging in the first place. And strangely enough, I found that I can unleash the mind-numbing drool that is my writing (tongue is planted firmly in cheek) without worrying about whether or not people will be turned off. Seriously though, I rediscovered my passion for writing mind numbing info dumps, and with Tumblr, I can seriously indulge that passion until I get seasick.
Now I know you're wondering about the fate of this blog, especially since it sounds like I'm moving to Tumblr. Well, to a certain degree, I am. However, because Tumblr has probably the crappiest commenting system known to mankind, I'll be using Blogger as a commenting system.
So starting with this post, I'll be turning this blog into a weekly blog. I'll post a link to my Tumblr blog and if you so choose, can leave your comments here to that post. Additionally, I will try my very best to post a short weekly blog post that will hopefully match up with the Tumblr post. One other item: Tumblr works best with Chrome or Firefox.
I'll still be around to visit/comment on your blogs, because quite frankly, I still need my morning and evening reality check, and your blogs are the best way of getting it.
3} Social media.
This ties in with point #1. I really need to be more active on social media, and while blogging and Facebook is good for starters, I really need to start exploring other avenues.
My friends and readers, I thank you for your support for these past 8 1/2 years, and I sincerely
hope that you'll still stop by to check me out from time to time, either here at Father Nature's Corner, I Are Writer! @ Tumblr or at Facebook.
