Catch Me If You Want, 'Cause I Ain't On Fire

Yas, I are having one of those weeks again, where I'm both motivated to blog, but can't find a topic in which to expound upon. I thought about doing a continuation of last week's post on censorship with one on non-FB FB censorship (aka, someone who controls a group on FB censoring stuff on a whim), but there was nothing that I could stretch out longer than this particular paragraph.

So, that leads us back to the square root of the hypotenuse of a baseball triangle {I double dog dare ya to figure out what I just wrote}.

I can say that I have a fresh post up at I Are Writer! that you can peruse at your leisure. And thus is born a post.

It's been a little over a year since I split off my writing posts from my blogging posts, and truth be told, I couldn't be happier. While it's been a king-sized teeter-totter of a ride here, over there, it has been nothing but calm waters. I'm having a blast re-exploring parts of my 11+ year writing adventure and creating new posts on the previously unexplored parts of that same 11+ year writing adventure.

Right now, I've just started a series of posts {1st one started on 11/19} that will explore the three-to-four w's behind my current W.i.P. The Friendship Has Begun. Earlier in the year, I did some deep sea exploring on the novella with the placeholder title of Blackness In The White Sand, which was pretty cool. And touched upon the journey of bringing What Is Life? to fruition.

Overall, it's been an extremely fascinating journey in reconnecting with the various nuances and foibles that goes into the creative dribbles that spurt from my highly skewed imagination.

For those of you who may have either forgotten or never knew the "whys" behind the various stories I've written, I strongly suggest that you start the journey by checking out my Tumblr blog. And if you really want the skinny, you can go all the way back to GWB II/Obama I {yes, that is when I started blogging}, check out all the various writing tags at my archive blog, Cedar's Mountain.

Tune in next week when I'll be rejoining the writing blog hop that is the Insecure Writer's Support Group for the first time since November 2015 {seriously, it's been that long}.

In the meantime, here's a video of a song that has been rumbling around my brain for the past week at work.

  1. It would be interesting to go back that far and check out one's writing journey.
A whole year since you posted for IWSG? Whoa... Welcome back!

    1. Yup, one whole year. Actually it was more like a baker's dozen, in that I signed off on it in November 2015, and I think the last one was posted in October.

It has been an interesting journey to say the least.

  2. There was only a subject for me, Cuban, that could have brought me back to the blogosphere this week. :-)

    Greetings from London.

    1. I can probably guess, and the first two don't count.

  3. Well I'm glad you are happy with your set up here and on your other blogs. It's amazing how even our blogging lives are changing and are on a journey as well as "real" life. That last sentence I wrote made no sense, but hopefully you understood what I was trying to say.

    1. Thanks.

It still feels a little weird. I compare it to between to t.v. shows. Blogger, the old establish star, has solid ratings but little adventure, while Tumblr has little ratings but lots of adventure.

  4. I have very little time to read all the blogs I follow and when I get to your list of blogs, books, daily posts, etc., I feel guilty for not perusing more carefully. Who is your biggest follower from blogland who supports all your endeavors?

    1. Never, never, ever feel guilty about not perusing more carefully. Do what you can at the various intervals and stoppages of play, and that will make me very happy.

As for my biggest follower, I would have to say Riot Kitty. She has been a supporter of my writing endeavors (and vice versa) ever since we first hooked up back in 2009. She has a been a very solid friend as well, and truth be told, I'm not sure where I would be with my writing (and everything else) without her support.

    1. Most definitely. I think I've come full circle with my blogging. In 2008, I stated off blogging for myself, and in 2016, I'm back to blogging for myself.

Like I've stated, I've had way more fun and less stress with my Tumblr blog than I've had here. Life does indeed go on, but sometimes, it's like the video at the end of the post.

  6. Your post gave me a thought: I wonder if there is any correlation between Obama coming into office and people starting a blog? Probably not much could be construed from that, but his becoming president is when I started. I don't give Obama any credit for that necessarily other than that's when my company branch closed down and I was out of a job.

    Oh well.

    1. It's a valid thought. However, I started mine Memorial Day weekend, roughly 6 months prior to him taking office. Previously, I was a member of a very toxic/biased online community called Topix. At the urging of a cyberfriend (former blogger now), I removed myself from there and started blogging here.

      Haven't looked back since.

I will say I've seen a lot of general purpose political blogs fall by the wayside over the years that were created during the later part of GWB II.

The only residual affect that I've personally experienced/seen was Obama's disastrous economic policies being implemented by a toady on the state level.

    2. Interesting--I started my blog after involvement on an Amazon discussion thread and the guy hosting this thread moved on to start a blog after Amazon banned him. He encouraged me to start a blog and it all went from there. GWB was still in office when I was participating on that thead and Obama was in his first year of office when I started my blog.

Probably no real correlation but it would be interesting to see what other similar stories are out there. Maybe I'll pose this on my blog.

    3. I think that being banned from somewhere is usually a good impetus for starting up a blog. At least with a blog, so long as you don't violate the boilerplate T.o.S. that most of them have, you can say just about anything.

Still, you do sometimes have to practice the art of self-censorship. Comes with the territory.
