As per the norm, here is the latest for I Are Writer!. Not much in the way of substance as we hit a minor lull in writing, but there is one very good nugget of information contained within that post that is really good news for me and quite possibly for other writers.
For today's weekly tidbit, I bring to one and all, a couple of pictures of my lovely daughter Jenelle, who at this same Panic! at the Disco channel next week, will be 16 years and one day old {I link to the band because this is her FAVORITE GROUP} and will be seeing the band at Mohegan Sun at the end of February.
I tell ya, it's tough being the parent of teenager these days. But, at least I got all of the mistakes out of the way with the 1st child, so I don't quite make the same type of mistakes with the 2nd.
Oh, in other exciting news, I will finally get to meet the boyfriend and his parents at dinner next week. Not sure what restaurant it will be, but considering that she is a vegetarian and he isn't (I think), it should be very interesting....

Most restaurants offer both now.
ReplyDeletePretty young lady. I don't envy those of you raising kids now.
I'm sure she'll enjoy her concert but I've never figured out the fascination with that particular band.
I have found one so far that doesn't offer vegetarian. I haven't figured out the fascination either. I bought a couple of their c.d.'s used, but they sound like that other emo-rock band Fall Out Boy. Still, I would rather listen to them than the Top 40 garbage that is out there.
DeleteIn the I Are Writer post, your reference to living in New England means that I must ask you this question that is plaguing me. The winners of the Superbowl are the New England Patriots, right? Yet all their celebrations occurred in Boston, which appears (?) to be their base. Is that where their home stadium is? But isn't Boston in Massachusetts? WTF is up with that? This confuses me greatly. I hope you can explain it to me.
ReplyDeleteGillette Stadium is in Foxborough, which is also their home base and is 22 miles south Boston, which probably makes them a suburb of sorts.
DeleteHope that explanation helps.
So is Foxborough in Massachusetts too? It's the "New England" part that doesn't make sense to me.
ReplyDeleteCorrect. I think they changed it to New England to make it more regional, as they were originally known as the Boston Patriots.
DeleteThey are only one of two American sports franchises that do not have a city name attached to their nickname. The other is the Golden State Warriors of the NBA (based in Oakland).
Thinking back to my dating teenage daughter, what a time in my life. I did have a dating application that her potential boyfriends had to complete. LOL Yes I did. No father in our home to scare off the boys but she had a terrifying older brother that helped.
ReplyDeleteNow that is something truly original and unique. :D
DeleteBesides me, all she has is a very older brother who has friends from other parts of the state who could help in a time of crisis, so to speak.
